CalOptima must release results of the pending Andrew Do investigation
No doubt about it, Andrew Do is Orange County’s most corrupt politician. The disgraced former supervisor is now in federal prison for bribery, stemming from an elaborate scheme to steal $10 million from taxpayers through discretionary funds.
CalOptima, which oversees Orange County’s MediCal program, has been investigating Do’s illicit activities while he sat on its Board as chairman.
Therefore, I am calling on CalOptima to make this report public immediately so all taxpayers can view how their money was spent, and/or misappropriated. In addition, CalOptima should immediately notify the District Attorney’s Office, DOJ and the California Attorney General’s Office to further investigate any potential criminal activity.
I am an alternation on the CalOptima Board and have not been allowed to see the report on this probe.
- Among the items I hope CalOptima investigated:
The 360 COVID Clinic was awarded a multimillion-dollar contract at the urging of Do. A County investigation has found evidence of double billing and fraud.
- Do associates attempted to sell a Tustin property to CalOptima at an inflated price of $29.5 million. Do signed this purchase agreement without a Board vote. The deal was rejected by the city of Tustin.
